Gas Pipeline De-Rate
Project Description
This project involved performing an in-place pressure test for two pipelines totaling 21 miles, as well as making modifications to three gas regulator stations to accommodate a new MAOP.
The team had to perform and document a pressure test at ~640 psig to establish the new MAOP of 425 psig on the 21 miles of pipeline that feed a regional client. Modifications include redesigning and rebuilding regulators, meters, heaters, odorizers, and installing a prefabbed building. Resulting from this project, the regional gas utility now has complete, traceable, and verifiable MAOP documentation for the pipelines.
Project Highlights
The project management team coordinated this work across Regulatory, Construction, Gas Plan, and Engineering branches of our regional utility client.
The construction schedule was developed and maintained to incorporate all project phases and tasks for multiple organizations and contractors, including maintaining a customer communication schedule for the customer’s commissioning.
